春梦是一部剧情片，社員たちのスト突入を目前にした製薬会社社長・奥平。ただでさえ頭の痛いこの時期に、焼き芋屋のじいさんが、屋敷の居間で脳溢血で倒れてしまった。病気が病気だけに、むやみに動かすこともできず、じいさんを奥平の屋敷で寝かせることになるのだが……。木下惠介が、自らの脚本を映画化した風刺喜劇。

An elderly sweet potato vendor collapses in the home of a self-absorbed wealthy family. He must be allowed to remain there while he recovers, and a screwball comedy of manners ensues. A host of family and visitors comes and goes, disrupting hopes of the greedy patriarch for peace and quiet, and subplots swirl. Movie fans will recognize elements of It Happened on Fifth Avenue, The Man Who Came To Dinner, and Boudu Saved From Drowning.
